Clash of Steel is a strategy game that covers World War II in Europe on a grand strategic scale between 1939 and 1945. Three major powers are playable: Germany (Axis), the Allies and the Soviet Union. In the game each player in charge of his chosen major power and its land, air and naval forces. Each player also controls production and research of military equipment. COS should not be missed. While the victory conditions are an overly simplistic all-or-nothing, the myriad of options coupled with a relatively short playing time allows one to test out his favorite theories of what should and shouldn't work. The graphics are good, the VGA resolution of 640x480 pixels has a lot to offer. Nevertheless, 16 colors do not leave much scope for truly outstanding performance in this area. Although no visual action scenes have been incorporated into this typical wargame, troop movements and combat operations are acoustically accompanied by the SoundBlaster. However, you should turn down the volume control a little, otherwise the neighbors might think that you are dealing with something larger than a harmless computer.
