Meanwhile, Nina goes to the city for spare parts and in the process runs into a naked young man who has no idea where he is. At the same moment, Nina is again attacked by a dragon. Confused by the strange events, she agrees to help the young man. So the adventure can begin... Breath of Fire is a traditional Japanese RPG from the SuperNES days, it is the fourth part of the series and the first to be released on PC (albeit in English in a limited edition).
The game environment is rendered in 3D graphics, but all the characters are 2D sprites. The player moves around the world, interacts with NPC characters and objects and learns about the world around him. He finds out what needs to be done to move the story forward. Each of the characters has a special ability that helps overcome obstacles on the way or solve puzzles outside of battles. Battles are random, appearing in hostile environments and dungeons.
The combat system is turn-based. The player tells the characters what to do and when. While he can leave them inactive (in the back), then they will heal, or their mana will be replenished (however, then they cannot intervene in the fight). A new feature of the fourth part is the combo system, when some skills or spells can be used in a certain order and thus multiply the attack bonus or other special feature.
