This is an inventive real-time puzzle game that combines elements of action with brain-teasing challenges. The game places players in control of a friendly, spotted ball trapped within a complex labyrinth filled with a variety of obstacles, traps, and puzzles that require both strategic thinking and quick reflexes to overcome.
As players navigate the ball through the labyrinth using the cursor keys, they will notice that the ball gains momentum and speed over time, adding a dynamic layer of challenge to the gameplay. The ball's interaction with the environment is governed by a set of realistic physics, where bouncing off obstacles, getting caught in traps, or even falling off the platform can have dire consequences, including the loss of energy or, ultimately, the death of the ball.
Spread across 32 intricately designed levels, the game is a test of skill and patience. Players must cleverly navigate through laser barriers, ramps, tubes, and breakable tiles, among other hazards. Success in each level often hinges on obtaining colored keys to unlock doors and activating switches that can either create or destroy items beneficial to the player's progress.
Strategic resource management plays a crucial role in Rock 'n Roll, as helpful items like picks (for repairing floor tiles), parachutes (to prevent falls), and bombs (to destroy walls) can be essential for advancing through levels. However, acquiring these items is not straightforward; players must collect coins scattered throughout each level to purchase these crucial aids.
The game's levels are not only large but also meticulously designed to challenge players' problem-solving abilities and dexterity. The realistic inertia of the ball adds an additional layer of depth to the gameplay, making the control scheme intuitive yet challenging to master, especially when navigating through the game's more demanding sections.
