Game review

There aren't many boxing simulators for DOS, so this game came as surprise from Distinctive Software with the title 4-D Boxing (in Europe under the name 4D Sports Boxing). The game was fully three-dimensional (which also had a negative effect on the hardware requirements, which were really high for its time), which made it possible, among other things, to watch matches from many angles.

Each of the many opponents had a different strategy - someone bet on a quick attack, someone on a counterattack, someone had a really crushing blow, another excelled in speed. The player gradually defeated harder and harder opponents, thus improving his character and dividing the gained experience points between speed, strength and endurance.

One of the game's most notable aspects is its atypical approach to the boxing genre. While boxing games are relatively rare, 4D Sports Boxing carves out its niche by offering a gameplay experience that captures the essence of the sport. This game is a must-try for fans of boxing and sports simulations, as it fills a gap in the gaming landscape with its focused theme. The true enjoyment of 4D Sports Boxing lies in the thrill of the fight – the tactical maneuvering, the precision of punches, and the strategic planning needed to outbox your opponents. The game offers a satisfying and fun experience for players who enjoy the challenge of virtual boxing, making it a noteworthy addition to the sports gaming genre of its time.
