Super Star Wars is an action platformer based on the first part of the Star Wars film series. In the role of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo or Chewbacca, in a total of fifteen levels, you will look at iconic locations from the film such as the Sandcrawler of the desert Jaws, the cantina in Mos Eisley or the Death Star itself. The game fairly closely follows the story of the film, which it tells using static inter-level cutscenes. The gameplay is mainly focused on action, but there are also a few sneaky platforming passages. To eliminate enemy stormtroopers, droids or the inhabitants of the planet Tatooine, all three heroes use their blasters, which can be upgraded by collecting power-ups, and Luke also has his blue lightsaber at his disposal. There are also boss fights and levels in which you take control of a landspeeder or X-Wing from a third-person perspective. Super Star Wars generally follows the plot of Star Wars, although some allowances were made to adapt the story to suit an action game. For example, instead of simply buying C-3PO and R2-D2 from the Jawas, Luke Skywalker must fight his way to the top of a Jawa sandcrawler while leaping from a series of moving conveyor belts.
