Legend is, that a mortal who appears and goes through the Lost City of Legends, gets the right to become one of the Gods. To get this right, you have to beat four guards of Citadel and overcome all obstacles - then you might become immortal. This is a short story of the game by Bitmap Brothers: Gods. You play the role of a mortal Hercules and must go through 4 levels, at the end of each, you face four main bosses - Guardians of Citadels. Each level is divided into several worlds and in each of these worlds you come across a lot of logic problems, riddles and tricks.
The gods offer the fulfillment of any wish to whoever takes back their fortress, which has been occupied by four uninvited visitors. The player, in the skin of Hercules, demands to become one of them in case of his success in the battle - to gain immortality and a permanent place on Mount Olympus.
Gods is a platformer focused on careful progression and ranged combat; projectiles include swords, daggers, spears, fireballs, and more. The main goal of each of the four levels is to defeat the boss - the guardian of the fortress of the gods. The levels are characterized by the fact that the player has to return in them after picking up a key or flipping a lever, which is also exacerbated by the limited capacity of the inventory.
The texts at the bottom of the screen provide help on the current procedure. Weapons and other upgrades can be purchased between levels with collected items such as diamonds. Bonuses are loaded for speed and lives saved. Computer controlled opponents react not only to Hercules' current position, but also to his way of fighting. The plot takes place in the environment of ancient Greece.
