It is no surprise that the name of the game is derived from the American city of Detroit, the center of the American automobile industry, where, among other things, Henry Ford assembled his first car. Detroit gives players the chance to experience what it's like to develop, manufacture and then sell cars. The game begins in 1908, when automobiles are slowly beginning to compete with horses as a means of transportation, so the player can look forward to vintage vintage cars with cranks and other period technologies, and ends only after about a hundred years. In the meantime, you can set up factories and branches around the world in a clear menu, design your own cars in a simple editor, and last but not least, satisfy demand and make a fortune. Designing vehicles also includes researching new technologies in several areas, you can improve engines, safety or even comfort and then assemble more interesting cars from newly researched components. The proposed cars must then pass safety tests, and at the end comes the biggest test - the customer. Other managerial duties include monitoring the salaries of employees so that they do not go on strike or, for example, organizing advertising campaigns. Up to three other competitors can keep you company during the game. Whether controlled by computer opponents or live players, they take turns on one computer after playing for one month. Multiplayer can also be played over the Internet.
