Did you know that good old Wolfestein 3D also had its indirect sequel called Rise of the Triad: Dark War. This is a classic 3D shooter where you put yourself in the role of a soldier (or even female soldier), which is part of an elite unit HUNT (High-risk United Nations Taskforce), which has been specially trained for combat actions. This time is the entity tasked to dispose of dangerous maniacs sect, which for months has been murdering thousands of people around the world. HUNT unit traveled to the island on a boat, where leaders of sect have their base, but your ship is subsequently destroyed. The ship was your only chance to escape and so you have only one option - shoot our way through all the enemies in the monastery fortress, where eventually you are gonna run to the leader of the sect itself. Although it is the indirect sequel Wolf, the game has a lot more options than the original game. You can choose from up to 5 characters for which you play, the levels are very broad (nearly one million square meters), lots of weapons and various extra accessories make this game fun and playable. Despite all these improvements we can't say that the game is better than Wolf 3D, which still offered, at that time, unique game system and was more fun. Rise of the Triad was just one of many other 3D shooters, issued in mid 90s.
