JSC Gamos was one of the leading Russian entertainment software developers, well-known for its puzzle series and other award-winning titles. Being one of the oldest Russian software companies, Gamos JSC was founded in 1991 and since then published more than 30 computer games: "Color Lines" (famous hit, in ex-USSR, it is known by virtually every computer user; published by NamcoLtd.. in Japan under the title "Golly! Ghost! Goal!" ), "WildSnake" ( got excellent press in USA, ported and published by Bullet-Proof Software ), "Filler "(7 COLORS) ( puzzle game, published in France by INFOGRAMES), "Regatta" ( 3D yacht simulator, published by Softdisk and SCANDINAVIAN PC SYSTEMS ),"Balda", just to name a few.
In 1993, Gamos took part in the International Borland Contest held in Moscow, and our game Regatta took 1-st place in its category ( computer games ) and two more Gamos titles were awarded special prizes. Given the fact that back in 1992-93 virtually every Soviet software developer were using Borland tools, we are especially proud of the fact that, at the Contest, Gamos also took Grand Prix. Started as a company almost exclusively dedicated to puzzles, Gamos had considerably widened its sphere of interests during its growth. Not only we published several simulators ( the above mentioned Regatta and Tank Destroyer ), but also took part in the development of an edutainment title. Upon completion of "Pilot Brothers. On The Track Of Striped Elephant", we have become acknowledged Russian adventure-maker number one. Now, along with Pilot Brothers II ( The Case Of Serial Maniac Sumo ) in progress, we have also started scroller/shooter and real 3D shooter - these are our mutual projects with Russian software developer TS Group, Inc.
In 1997, Gamos JSC was included in the top-200 list and, according to the results of the same poll, its President Eugene A. Sotnikov was included in the list of 200 best professionals of Russian computer business. ( Computer Business of Russia' 97 ).
