Sir Arthur, rytier bez bázne a hany, sa uchádza o ruku krásnej princeznej Prin Prin opakujúce jeho city. Kráľ démonov Astaroth však má s princeznou vlastné nekalé plány, a tak je jedného dňa unesená jeho pekelníkov. Smelý Arthur sa vydáva na výpravu za jej záchranou, obnášajúcu temný hvozd, cintorín plný oživených mŕtvol, dom lietajúcich buliev, diablom posadnuté mesto i hlbiny samotného podsvetia.
Hra bola už od začiatku pokladaná za jednu z tých ťažších v rámci žánru plošinoviek. Arthur tu musí čeliť nielen pohyblivým plošine, hrozbe utopenia, uhorenia, ale predovšetkým neúprosnému časovému limitu v každej úrovní a tiež skutočnosť, že jediná rana od nepriateľa znamená stratu vznešeného brnenie. Ak sa tak stane, ďalšia rana bude smrteľná a Arthur si musí cestu skrz netopiere, zlobrov a drakmi prekliesniť vo spodkách, ak po ceste nenájde ďalšie.
Uprostred každej z úrovní sa nachádza jeden záchytný bod. Medzi pre plošinovky typické power-upy sa radí napríklad dýky či bomby. Po prvom dohraní sa hráč dozvie, že všetko bola Salbe narafičená diablom a musí prejsť celú hru ešte raz na vyššiu obtiažnosť.
